Dear Benton Families,
It is so wonderful to work with young students. I am always impressed with their passion, dedication, and energy towards life.
Recently, Benton students have raised over $500 dollars in the Hats on to Haiti fundraiser. The idea and implementation of this idea was done solely by students who wanted to make a difference. Benton students continue to find ways to show the difference they make in our community. Several Benton students take part in the Buddies Program. This is a program where students have the opportunity to mentor severely handicapped students. While this program helps participants improve their academics, it also creates positive relationships between students that might not otherwise interact. In addition to the compassion and heart of our students, many are excelling academically. School wide, there was a 15% increase in ELA benchmark 2 scores. This type of increase is definitely a sign of hard work from our staff and students. Keep up the great work!
The Benton PTA has also been very active with its most recent fundraising event, the annual McTeacher night at McDonalds. It was nice to see so many students and parents supporting our PTA. Who can resist those fries?
Thank you so much for making Benton Middle School a wonderful place to work and learn. Let's keep up the great efforts! I am so excited to see what great things will happen throughout the remainder of the year.
